The Know Your Rights campaign is a form of public legal education and is an outreach tool for the LICM.
The Know Your Rights campaign was established to inform communities members of their rights and the LICM’s services. An objective of the campaign is to facilitate access to justice by making it easier to speak to a LICM volunteer. In June, September, and January, the LICM will host a number of individual pop-up legal information clinics. At each, there will be a “booth” staffed by volunteers. Community members can walk up to the booth with specific legal questions, which will be answered on the spot. Currently, the Know Your Rights campaign is equipped to answer questions regarding residential leases and employment law.
For more information about the campaign, please email the Director of Communications at the address indicated in the website’s sidebar. Updates on the campaign location, dates, and times will be posted on the LICM social media pages.
