The LICM offers a court accompaniment program. This program is offered to McGill students as well as members of the community. Our student volunteers can accompany you to the Administrative Housing Tribunal and Small Claims Court. A volunteer can accompany you to court, provide moral support and explain procedures.
To request an accompaniment to a hearing, please contact our Director of Community Services, Melissa, at cs.licm@mail.mcgill.ca.
You must have a hearing date scheduled at the Administrative Housing Tribunal or Small Claims Court in order to access the court accompaniment service.
The court accompaniment program was first launched in 2017 as a pilot project aimed to increase access to justice for marginalised groups and provide support to clients involved in the court system.
