While it is possible to make an appointment to meet with one of our volunteers in person, people wishing to get information quickly should note that it is faster to proceed by phone than by in-person appointment. You should expect a one to two week delay from the time you call us or drop by to make an appointment to the time of your appointment itself. Such appointments are limited to 30 minutes.
During your appointment, an LICM volunteer will ask you about your situation and will work to narrow down your legal questions. They will then ask you to wait while they speak with a supervisor to ensure they have all the information necessary to proceed with research. After this meeting, the volunteer will carry out the necessary research and verify the quality of the answer they prepare with a Director. This may take up to one week. Once the research is completed, the volunteer will call you back with an answer.
